EDX Markets is a digital asset marketplace launched in 2023, designed to cater to the needs of both crypto-native firms and major financial institutions. Backed by a consortium of industry leaders including Citadel Securities, Fidelity Digital Assets, Charles Schwab, and Sequoia Capital, EDX aims to bring the best practices of traditional finance to the cryptocurrency market. Its key feature is a non-custodial model, meaning the exchange does not take possession of customers' assets, thereby reducing counterparty risk. The platform provides a marketplace for trading and also operates a separate clearinghouse, EDX Clearing, to facilitate the settlement of trades.
