east sussex credit union (escu)

Established in 2001, East Sussex Credit Union (ESCU) is a community-focused financial institution owned and controlled by its members. As a not-for-profit organisation, its mission is to promote thrift by encouraging regular savings and to provide its members with access to affordable credit at fair rates of interest. Unlike traditional banks, any surplus generated by the credit union is returned to its members through dividends or reinvested to improve services. Membership is based on a "common bond," specifically for individuals who live or work in East Sussex, Brighton, or Hove.
