Founded in 2016 and backed by the private equity firm Hg, CogitalGroup was established to build a leading international business services group. It grew rapidly through the strategic acquisition of several well-established accounting and advisory firms across the UK and the Nordics, including Baldwins, Blick Rothenberg, and Visma BPO. The company's mission was to leverage technology to provide critical business support and advice to entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In 2020, to create a unified brand identity across its extensive network, CogitalGroup rebranded its UK and Nordic operations to Azets.
