Carolina Small Business Development Fund

Founded in 1990, Carolina Small Business Development Fund is a statewide nonprofit and certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the U.S. Treasury. Its mission is to foster economic development by providing capital and support to small businesses, particularly those started by underserved populations including women, minorities, and low-to-moderate-income individuals. In 2020, the organization rebranded to Thread Capital to better reflect its mission of weaving a stronger economic fabric in the communities it serves through its lending and business advisory services.
