CarPass

Car-Pass vzw (ASBL) is a non-profit association established by Belgian law to manage a central database of mileage readings for cars and light commercial vehicles. Its primary mission is to protect consumers and the integrity of the automotive sector by preventing odometer tampering. Since its operational start in 2006, professionals in the Belgian automotive industry (such as garages, body repair shops, and inspection centers) are legally required to transmit mileage data to Car-Pass at each service or intervention. When a used vehicle is sold, the seller must provide the buyer with an official Car-Pass certificate, which shows the vehicle's known mileage history, ensuring transparency in the transaction.
