Byte

Byte was a video-sharing service created by Dom Hofmann, a co-founder of the defunct social media app Vine. Positioned as a spiritual successor to Vine, Byte allowed users to create and share six-second looping videos. The app officially launched in January 2020. In early 2021, Byte was acquired by another short-form video company, Clash. Shortly after the acquisition, the standalone Byte app was shut down, with its features and community being merged into the Clash platform.
