Originally founded in 1952 as the U of C Federal Credit Union for University of Colorado faculty and staff, the institution grew through mergers, including one with Boulder Valley Credit Union. In 2008, it officially rebranded to Elevations Credit Union to better reflect its expanding community-based membership. As a credit union, its mission is to function as a trusted financial partner, providing solutions and guidance for its members' financial well-being, returning profits to members in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and fewer fees.
