Boston Local Development Corporation (BLDC)

Founded in 1979, the Boston Local Development Corporation (BLDC) is a private 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation operating in affiliation with the City of Boston's Economic Opportunity and Inclusion cabinet. Its primary mission is to foster job creation and economic growth within Boston by offering financing to small and emerging businesses that may not qualify for traditional bank loans. The BLDC's loan fund is capitalized by the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA), and it specializes in providing gap financing to help businesses secure the capital needed to start, expand, and thrive.
