Borsa Italiana is the integrated Italian market infrastructure, with operations diversified across regulated markets. Borsa Italiana organizes and manages the Italian market through national and international intermediaries operating - in Italy or from overseas - using a fully electronic trading system to execute trades in real-time. Among the guiding principles, fundamental is the entrepreneurial nature of the organization and management of the markets and the separation of the supervisory functions (exercised by Consob and the Bank of Italy) from those of regulation and management of the markets (exercised by Borsa Italiana).
