Founded in 1979, the Bolsa Mercantil de Colombia (BMC) is a publicly traded company that operates as Colombia's primary exchange for commodities, agricultural products, and energy. Its mission is to develop and promote efficient, transparent, and secure markets for these sectors, contributing to the economic development of the country. The BMC provides a platform for price formation, trading, clearing, and settlement of transactions, offering services such as a public commodity market, a gas market, and a government procurement system (SECOP). The exchange is supervised by the Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia (Financial Superintendence of Colombia).
