Blocknom was a Singapore-based financial technology company, backed by Y Combinator, that operated a centralized crypto savings platform. The company's core product allowed users to deposit stablecoins, primarily USDT and USDC, and earn a fixed high annual percentage yield (APY). Its mission was to simplify the process of earning returns on digital assets, making it more accessible than complex Decentralized Finance (DeFi) protocols. The platform targeted users, particularly in Southeast Asia, seeking stable, high-yield investment alternatives. However, following regulatory warnings, Blocknom ceased all operations in late 2022.
