Bittrex

Founded in 2014 by security engineering experts Bill Shihara, Richie Lai, and Rami Kawach, Bittrex was a United States-based cryptocurrency exchange headquartered in Seattle, Washington. The platform was built with a strong emphasis on security and regulatory compliance, offering users access to a large number of trading pairs. In 2019, the company restructured, creating Bittrex Global to serve non-US customers. Following significant regulatory pressure and enforcement actions from US authorities, Bittrex, Inc. announced the cessation of its US operations in April 2023 and subsequently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Bittrex Global also announced it was winding down its operations and ceased all trading activity on December 4, 2023.
