BET CO-OPERATIVE CREDIT UNION LTD

Established in 1982 by employees of the British Ever-Ready Company, BET Co-operative Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution dedicated to serving its members. Its mission is to promote thrift by encouraging regular savings and to provide credit to members at fair and reasonable rates of interest. As a co-operative, it is owned and controlled by its members, with any surplus generated being returned to the members through dividends or used to enhance services. The credit union operates under a "common bond" which restricts membership to individuals who live or work within County Durham.
