Bank of us is Tasmania's only customer-owned bank, meaning its customers are also its owners. Originally founded in 1970 as the Bass and Equitable Building Society, and later known as B&E, the institution rebranded to Bank of us in 2017. As a mutual bank, its profits are reinvested back into the bank to provide better products, services, and rates for its customers and to support the local Tasmanian community. It offers a comprehensive suite of personal and business banking services, including savings accounts, home loans, personal loans, credit cards, and financial planning.
