BankAxept - en del av BankID BankAxept AS

BankAxept is the national payment scheme of Norway, owned by the Norwegian banks. Established to create a secure, stable, and cost-effective payment infrastructure, it processes over eight out of ten card payments made in physical stores in Norway. The service has since expanded to include online shopping and contactless payments. In 2022, the company operating the BankAxept scheme merged with BankID to form BankID BankAxept AS, a company that now manages two of Norway's most critical national infrastructures: electronic identification (BankID) and domestic payments (BankAxept).
