Founded in 2010 as Bad Girl Ventures (BGV), the organization was created to support female entrepreneurs by providing them with education, mentorship, and access to capital through micro-loans and accelerator programs. Based in the Ohio/Kentucky region, BGV focused on empowering women to build and sustain profitable businesses. In 2017, the organization rebranded to Aviatra Accelerators to better reflect its expanded mission of helping women entrepreneurs "take flight" through a combination of business education, coaching, and funding opportunities.
