Founded in 2013 in Berlin, Avuba GmbH was a pioneering fintech company aiming to provide a modern, mobile-first banking experience. The service allowed users to open a bank account via their smartphone in minutes, complete with a Mastercard for payments. The company's mission was to simplify banking and make it more accessible and user-friendly. However, after failing to secure a new banking partner and facing regulatory hurdles, Avuba announced its shutdown in early 2016 and was officially liquidated and deleted from the German commercial register in October 2016.
