Ave Finance

Aave is a leading open-source and non-custodial liquidity protocol built on various blockchain networks, primarily Ethereum. Initially launched as ETHLend in 2017 and rebranded to Aave in 2018, its core function is to create money markets where users can deposit digital assets into liquidity pools to earn interest, or borrow assets by providing cryptocurrency as collateral. The protocol is governed by AAVE token holders through the Aave DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization), aiming to build a transparent, open, and equitable financial system. The protocol's software is primarily developed and maintained by Avara (formerly Aave Companies).
