Augmint AG was a financial technology company founded in 2017 and headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. The company's primary mission was to create and manage a stable, non-speculative cryptocurrency, the AEUR stablecoin, which was pegged 1:1 to the Euro. The token was designed to be fully backed by collateral held in Swiss banks and subject to regular audits to ensure trust and stability for use in everyday transactions. Despite its initial goals, the project ultimately failed to sustain operations, leading to the company's bankruptcy and subsequent closure in early 2021.
