Athens Federal

Founded in 1934, Athens Federal Community Bank was a federally chartered savings bank headquartered in Athens, Tennessee. For over 85 years, it served individuals and businesses across several counties in East Tennessee, offering a traditional range of financial products, including checking and savings accounts, personal and commercial loans, and mortgage services. The bank was known for its community-oriented approach. In September 2019, it was announced that Athens Federal would be acquired by CapStar Financial Holdings, Inc., the parent company of CapStar Bank. The acquisition was completed on April 1, 2020, and all Athens Federal branches and operations were subsequently merged and rebranded as CapStar Bank.
