Anchorage

Founded in 2017 by Diogo Mónica and Nathan McCauley, Anchorage Digital began as a premier custody solution for digital assets, targeting institutional investors. A landmark achievement occurred in January 2021 when the company received the first federal charter for a digital asset bank from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), officially becoming Anchorage Digital Bank, National Association. This charter allows it to offer a suite of regulated financial services, including custody, staking, governance, trading, and financing, all within a secure and compliant framework designed for institutional needs.
