American Press Association (California)

The American Press Association (APA) is a U.S.-based organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for independent journalists, freelance reporters, photographers, and media professionals. Its primary service is the issuance of press credentials (press passes) to qualified members, which helps them gain access to events and establish their professional identity. In addition to credentials, the APA offers its members a directory, resources, and information on legal support. Founded to serve a growing community of non-traditional media workers, the association aims to uphold the principles of a free press by empowering individuals operating outside of large media corporations.
