American Municipal Power

Founded in 1971, American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP) is a nonprofit joint action agency that provides wholesale power, transmission, and a wide range of other services to its 134 member municipal electric systems. These members are located across nine states: Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Indiana, Maryland, and Delaware. AMP's mission is to provide its members with a reliable and economical power supply through the joint ownership and development of generation and transmission facilities, as well as through risk management, legislative advocacy, and technical assistance.
