Alterbank

Founded as Brazil's first "crypto bank," Alterbank aimed to bridge the gap between the conventional financial system and the crypto economy. It provided users with a digital account, a physical and virtual Visa card, and a platform to buy, sell, and store cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. The key feature was allowing users to seamlessly use their crypto balance to fund their Visa card for everyday purchases. In 2022, the company was acquired by Méliuz. However, in May 2023, Méliuz announced the discontinuation of Alterbank's crypto-related operations to focus on its core financial services.
