Aegon began its operations in the Czech Republic in 1995, establishing itself as a key provider of life insurance and pension savings. In 2018, the Dutch-based NN Group acquired Aegon's life insurance, pension, and investment businesses in the Czech Republic and Slovakia as part of a strategic expansion in the region. The transition was completed in 2019, with all "AEGON Pojišťovna, a.s." and "AEGON Penzijní společnost, a.s." entities being fully rebranded and integrated into the NN Group, now operating as NN Životní pojišťovna and NN Penzijní společnost. The company continues to offer a wide range of insurance and retirement solutions to individual and corporate clients.
