Founded in 1961, Accion is a global nonprofit organization with a mission to advance financial inclusion. It works to provide people with the financial tools they need to improve their lives. Accion operates on a "double bottom line" approach, seeking both social and financial returns. The organization's work is centered around three pillars: investing in and supporting innovative fintech startups through its seed-stage investment arm, Accion Venture Lab; providing advisory services to financial service providers to help them reach more clients effectively; and influencing the financial sector through research and thought leadership to create a more inclusive global economy.
