1st Global

Founded in 1992, 1st Global built its business on a model of supporting accounting and tax firms to provide comprehensive wealth management services. The firm served as a broker-dealer and registered investment adviser, providing the platform, research, and back-office support for financial advisors affiliated with CPA firms. In May 2019, 1st Global was acquired by Blucora, Inc. and was subsequently merged with Blucora's other wealth management firm, HD Vest Financial Services, to create a new, unified brand: Avantax Wealth Management. The 1st Global brand is no longer in use, and its operations, advisors, and assets are now part of Avantax.
